WE'RE ENGAGED!!!!

This morning, Justin and I got up early and went to the United States Naval Academy where Justin graduated from in 2006 to walk around and enjoy the absolutely beautiful day. We went to the Visitor Center and walked around the campus. Clear blue skies... bright sun... a cool breeze... the makings of a perfect day. Little did I know how much more perfect the day would get. Justin proposed to me at the USNA with the beautiful water and boats in the background. Justin got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and I of course said "YES!" (That is after I cried and cried!) It was the perfect proposal and I am so blessed to be engaged to my best friend and the man that I am going to spend the rest of my life with. Justin proposed with a beautiful round solitaire ring that is so much more than I would have ever imagined that I would have in my entire life.
We are looking forward to getting married in December!

Gooo Navy! Beat Towson!

Totally spur of the moment... Justin and I packed up the car and drove north to Annapolis for the day and night to see the home Navy football opener against Towson. We had a FANTASTIC time braving the extreme heat with our dear friends the Petri's, tailgating and cheering on NAVY to a great win!

Farewell Smith and Weps

This afternoon, Justin and I got together with the rest of the wardroom at the Campbell's house to say goodbye to Matt Smith and Matthew Kapus. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and we had a blast playing cornhole, eating good food, and hanging out with wonderful friends. After spending ALL day at the Campbell's, Matt, Matt, and Justin decided to go swimming in the lake while Dana, Heidi and I decided to make smores on the fire pit. Good times with good friends. We'll miss you all! :-(

Our first vacay! Hilton Head Island

Justin and I enjoyed our FIRST VACATION at Hilton Head Island in the Kirkpatrick's beautiful beach condo! We hopped in the car early Thursday morning after Justin got off duty and drove 8 hours to sunny HHI where we spent the next two days full of fun and sun. We hung out on the beach and passed football, played in the ocean, rode bikes on the beach, boogie boarded, went to the pool, and even went sailing. We had a fantastic time. :-) We can't wait until we can get away to HHI next... A big thank you to the Kirkpatrick's for letting us call their condo home for 2 days!

We HAD to eat at The Salty Dog! We enjoyed it so much!

Heading to Red Fish for dinner - we highly recommend it!

Journey in concert!

Tonight, Justin and I met up with 12 other friends for the Cheap Trick, Heart, and Journey concert at the Virginia Beach Amphitheater. We had an AMAZING time! Justin got home from his underway on July 31 and we have been having a fantastic time together since. :-) Below are a few fun pictures from our fun evening. And take note... do not try to sneak in Jim Beam in your purse, it WILL be found.

Joe (Dirty) was headed for San Diego for his shore tour the next week. We had a mini "farewell party" in the parking lot waiting for all of the traffic to lighten up!
